Summer is just days away, and it is definitely one of the busiest times of the year for parties and gatherings. It hasn't always been easy for me to be a socialite. Being born with a tuxedo, does not an aristocat make! You see, I am very shy and quiet by nature, so I've had to undergo some, shall we say, etiquette lessons to learn the proper things to say or do in social situations.
Here are a few little tips and tricks that have really helped me:
When entering a group event, find someone else who seems to be isolated or even just temporarily disengaged from conversation. The food dish or water bowl is a good place for this. Go ahead, introduce yourself!
Hello, nice to meet you. Do you ever blink?
Stand at the edge of a group until you have something to add to the conversation. I know this requires putting your natural reserve aside, but take the plunge. It will be worth it.
We just adore that first photo, Reese!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the great tips. We'll make sure to follow them!

ReplyDeleteGreat tips Reese! My sisfur uses the technique of stretching on stranger's legs so they get the lovely pin prick of claws in their tushy. That gets attention during social situations!
